And so much more!
I’ve been drawn to magick and the earth for as long as I can remember. And, have been a solitary practitioner of the craft for over 20 years.
Though I don’t much like labels, I do identify well with the terms Celtic Witch and Kitchen Witch.
My practice is deeply rooted in nature, and I believe that everything carries it’s own energy and magick (including the foods we eat!). I have also always had a love and fascination for all things Celtic; the dieties, lore, and traditions. My Irish heritage may have something to do with that.
Adopting a holistic way of life has been a natural progression since 2012. I am a Certified Holistic Nutrition Practitioner with additional training in herbalism and body detoxification.
I have been, very slowly, adopting a more natural lifestyle since 2012. I had become wary of the toxins in our environment and in the products we use each and every day. On our skin no less.
So I decided to undergo training in natural beauty product crafting. That training was the first step of many that have made up the last 8 years.
From there I began to eliminate other harmful substances in my environment, turned vegetarian, and then vegan. This type of life has a domino effect. Make a change and others will follow.
There I was going about my life throughout those years happy with my changes and feeling like I was being pretty damn healthy if I do say so myself. Then 2017 happened.
Enter my huge wake-up call.
In December I was diagnosed with triple positive, stage 2, breast cancer. You may view a full post about receiving my diagnose HERE if you want to read more about it.
Talk about a smack in the face. Truth be told I was doing many healthy things in my life absolutely. However, I was also stressed out, suffering from anxiety, tired, overworked, and eating out probably a bit too often. There was just never any time. Owning a small business and having a constantly on the go lifestyle can do that to ya.
I was burnt out and fully believe these factors contributed greatly to my disease. I was not nurturing myself physically or spiritually and now my body was screaming.
These are not the only factors when it comes to getting a cancer diagnosis I am well aware. There are so many factors to be considered and no-one ever really knows the why of it all. But taking proper care of ourselves should never be taken for granted and goes a damn long way in the fight against disease.
Fast forward to now, over two years from the start of that journey. It’s been less than 1 year since I have been completely finished with treatments. But I am finally on my way to getting my life and my health back on track.
I am on a personal mission to a whole new level of wellness. The last couple of years really lit a fire under my ass to achieve that life I had been envisioning for myself. Life is too short to accept anything less.
I still have some challenges to overcome, my own health goals to reach, and a blog that deserves more of my attention! One day at a time right?
Diving into my blog is a 2020 goal of mine. I started this blog in 2017 a few months before my diagnosis and let’s just say it has not yet become what I initially envisioned. Time to change that!
If you’ve made it all the way to this point, I thank you! I am thrilled to have you here on this adventure with me.
Please do leave a comment, follow me on social media or email with any questions you may have. I would love to hear from you!
